Brief history of car:
The Spartan was an original design but clearly heavily inspired by British roadsters of the 1930's. Originally based on Triumph mechanicals from the Herald, Spritfire and Vitesse range the Spartan later became based on the Ford Cortina Mk 3 to 5 as the Triumph stable became scarcer and more collectable.
The Spartan was to have it's own ladderframe chassis for the Ford mechanicals along aluminium bodywork for the main tub and fibreglass for the wings.
Most Spartan examples you will see will have a 2+2 seating arrangement. The cars have a strong following with approx 4000 made during its 20 year life so can still be picked up today quite easily.
