Fugitive

by UVA
Fugitive Gallery

Available: 1980s

Brief history of car:

The Fugitive was an import from America recreated in Blighty by UVA. Based around the Sand rail buggy concept the Fugitive could be used as an off roader or just a whacky buggy style piece of transportation.

Minimalist is the order of the day, based around a rugged chassis with few GRP panels, no interior comforts just the basics to get by.

Based on VW Beetle running gear and engine the Fugitive had a good turn of speed for a light weight car. Various other engine combinations were tried out back including Alfa boxer, and even Rover V8. UVA stopped trading around 1991.
