Available: Original design 2+2 Coupe
Brief history of car:
The Midas Gold was the next generation stage to the Midas Bronze. Using Austin Metro mechanicals now rather than Austin Mini.
Looking more 'butch' with wider wheel arches the Midas Gold has a more purposeful, up to date look when compared to the Bronze.
Still utilizing an all fibreglass monocoque (why mess with a proven strong and well designed chassis) the Midas Gold used Metro mechanicals and later would utilise the Rover 100 with the K series engines. Production was to cease in 1989 when the factory suffered a fire.
