Available: 1984 to 1990's
Brief history of car:
As was found on most of the Moss range the Monaco was based around a Triumph Herald or Vitesse chassis. The Monaco proved that eccentric was popular as a good 100 of these were sold. Often referred to as 'cigar shaped' the Monaco proved popular for it's excellent value for money (ie cheap) and fun per buck return.
Simplicity was also it's strong selling point with not much in the way of extras to contend with the Monaco build was straightforward with the one piece bodywork bolting to the Triumph chassis.
The more madcap owners were known to have shoehorned Rover V8's into these making performance spirited to say the least!
